WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT
Mingenew is the true heart and soul of the Mid West’s Wildflower Country. It is super close to the Coalseam Conservation Park, (arguably the holy-grail for Wildflower Hunters), is abundant in natural, amazing landscapes and most importantly, our locals are lovely!
Mingenew itself is blessed with a natural landscape that is like no other, even in our neighbouring shires. In season, wildflower that is, Mingenew Hill and its views are breathtaking. Fields covered in a blanket of canola which, set against a sky of impossible blue and rich red rock, makes for a perfect picnic, walk or a nice glass of wine.
Whilst our landscape is rich in things to see, our town is also dotted with points of interest and for those of you from the city. Mingenew is real country. Our local farmers, some of whom live and work on very large outlying properties, love nothing more than a yarn with ‘city-folk’ and finding out what’s happening down the road.
The Caravan Park is revered for offering both great shade and brilliant hospitality. Mingenew Hotel is conveniently located in the centre of town on Midlands Road. The Hotel is one of the Mid West’s iconic pubs. It has welcoming atmosphere, good pub food and refreshing drinks with outdoor sitting area.
The enduring experience of Mingenew is of a friendly, authentic and memorable country destination.
“MUST DO” EXPERIENCES
1. Sunset on Mingenew Hill
This stunning formation will amaze visitors with its incredible endless views across Mingenew’s beautiful breakaway country. From all vantage points, it’s a lot like overlooking a quilt of beautiful yellows and greens, with the hill itself abundant with a swathe of wildflower species. ‘The Hill’ is the perfect spot for a picnic lunch or a champagne sunset finish to a lovely mid-west day.
2. Coalseam Conservation Park
Whilst Coalseam is rich with geological features and steeped in pioneering history, it’s the views that will leave you in awe. Carpets of some of the
most unique wildflowers in Australia cover most of the parks vast area, which is intersected by an ancient river where you can literally take a walk and find fossils dating way back in time. Coalseam is a great spot for a full day trip before winding your way back to Mingenew Springs Caravan Park for a night under the stars.
3. Wildflowers at Depot Hill
Whistle as you walk. Depot Hill is ‘just around the corner’ from Mingenew and
in season is a spectacular destination for tourists and locals alike.
